Jema Clinic Appointment Cancellation & Non-Attendance Policy
Jema Clinic is a bulk billing practice. Eligible consultations are fully covered by Medicare, and there is no out-of-pocket fee for standard appointments. To ensure fair and timely access to medical care for all members of our community, we ask patients to provide adequate notice if they are unable to attend a scheduled appointment.
Cancelling or Rescheduling Your Appointment
- Standard consultation appointments: Minimum 2 hours’ notice required.
- Long or procedural appointments: Minimum 24 hours’ notice required.
Missed Appointments (No-Show)
A missed appointment occurs when a patient does not attend their scheduled appointment and the clinic has not been notified within the required notice period.
Non-Attendance Fee
The Non-Attendance Fee is not a consultation fee. No Medicare service is provided for a missed appointment. The fee contributes to administrative costs and the clinical time reserved for you.
Current Non-Attendance Fees:
- Standard consultation: $80
- Extended/procedural appointment: $160
Outstanding Non-Attendance Fees
Where a Non-Attendance Fee applies, an invoice may be issued. Payment may be required before booking further appointment. Repeated missed appointments may results in limitations on advanced bookings.
Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that unexpected situations can occur. If exceptional circumstances prevented you from attending, please contact our team. Each situation will be considered individually. By booking an appointment with Jema Clinic (online, by phone, or in person), you acknowledge and accept this policy.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation
